I read the cover drop shadows this way: we are seeing two drop shadows,
which are in different typefaces because they represent bilocations of the
title and author¹s name (and ³a novel,² of course). There is a single light
source, which is the reader...and while this may be getting too weird, I
find that holding the book at what for me is ³reading distance² places the
source at, well...heart level....
