     After a moment of silence it was Miles who announced in a clear 
and firm voice, "The cards you have put down there all happen to be
black---your'red' is the nine of diamonds, the curse of Scotland, and 
it's right here," reaching to lift the sharper's hat, and to remove from 
atop his head, and exhibit, the card at issue. . . .AtD, pg 23

     "A suprised expression could be noted on Lindsay's face. 
"That was . . . wll executed, Blundell. How did you know where
that card was?"
     "Sometimes," Miles with a strangely apprehensive note in 
his voice, "these peculiar feelings will surround me, 
Lindsay . . . like the electricty coming on---as if I can see 
everything clear as day, how . . . how everything is together, 
connects. It doesn't last long, though. Pretty soon I'm just
 back to tripping over my feet again."AtD, pg 24

Miles is, as it were, the Harry Potter among the Chums,
gifted with second sight. We find him in a bewildering variety 
of Metaphysical and Occult  adventures, providing a wide
variety of neo-pagan responses to early/modern stimuli.
Miles is probably the very first of the Crew willing to fly into 
the glory of what is coming.
