nice piece on edward mendellson

disagree w/ review of new mailer--hitler's father comes across as a pompous,
arrogant fool to me
not sure where reviewers see him as some sort of sympathetic creature
from the 100 pgs I read of the novel which I then bailed--the whole devil
scenario is so very reductive and lazy

didn't make it w/ wizard of the crow either alas--wasn't as phantasmagorical
as I expected. oh well

currently reading Moscow 1941, a panoramic view of the city during the
