Is what we like to call little joke. . . . 
wandering into a weird parallel
universe for just a moment, that's
all, sticking the p-list on Borges' un-retrievable
home page, if you catch my drift. . . .

Point being that the author's deliberate misdirection,
as self-parodied in the quote from pg 799, can go off
into infinite directions, even higher order numbers
of such levels of extremity as to exist only in the realm of
imaginary numbers.
