but I'm moved to elaborate on how the passage spoke to me

the magician at the Vibe party is up "by" the bandstand,
so maybe mingling after having put on a show, ie, a
high-enough class illusionist (and maybe real magician)
to move through the membrane between hired help and
partygoers? // it is Zombini, we are now seeing him

but the implications of _drinking gems_, and
"living in a stone world" - what about those, Robin?
Are they mere magician's patter?  ...because he
