Leaving aside the question of whether or not Keith's reading of 
Nevsky==Stalin in the film is correct, the film most certainly *is* 
Stalinist propaganda -- quite explicitly so.   It was made to serve 
Stalin's aims at the time.

[But that does not mean (to me) that it thereby loses the right to be 
considered as "art" or that it can simply be dismissed.]
