A Monist View of the Relation between Libidinal and Political Economies
and the Problem of Fascism

ABSTRACT. The question of the connection between desire and society, in
particular with respect to fascism, is examined in this lecture by contrasting
two intimately linked but very different approaches - that of Reich in his
pre-American or Freudo-Marxist period, and that of Deleuze and Guattari's
biosocial theory. The two viewpoints correspond to dualist versus monist
conceptualizations of the connection between libidinal and political economies.
As the hydra of fascism once again raises its ugly head, the issues brought up
by this 1979 lecture remain more pressing than ever. And from any viewpoint that
seeks expansion of aetherometric knowledge, the monist notion of the connection
between desire and political economy is an opening to understanding our natural
and social histories as biophysical productions that obey two distinct energy
regimes.

(where can I find more similar items, you are wondering?
at www.aetherometry.com follow the link in the left frame that is entitled "Ser

Monographs" -- but it's all good

(aetherometry has lots of good articles about the aether, too, of course, so
this isn't completely unrelated to topics of interest in AtD)
