now, see, that's how it ought to work!

and here's how education ought to work (www.helsinki.fi/admissions/faq.htm

What is the tuition fee at the University of Helsinki?
There is no tuition fee for students studying for a degree at the University of
Helsinki. This rule applies to international students, too. The only obligatory
fee is the Student Union membership fee (.69 per year in 2006-2007). Student
Union membership is obligatory for undergraduate and graduate students, however,
it is voluntary for postgraduate students (PhD students): postgraduate degree
students may choose whether to pay the fee or not.
