An exceedingly beautiful city. Our hotel overlooked the Piazza della
Republica which is right at the crossroad center of the original Roman
city. Florence is great walking city, and we walked everywhere,
visited numerous museums and palaces (it is so easy to fall into
sensory overload there), took many many photos, feasted at many
trattorias, took our siestas and always had 9PM reservations at one or
another special ristorante on our list. Per Monte's suggestion we
took a city bus up to the hill town of Fiesole which overlooks the
city and had a fantastic lunch on a terrace with an amazing view.
The only down side was the Euro/Dollar exchange rate, but, oh well,
its only money.
