Mark. You are wrong. Both those books are huge disappointments, particularly
AtD. I plan to re-read M+D so maybe I'll change my mind about it. Whether
Pynchon worked on AtD since GR does not change the fact that it is a piece
of shit. After all, William Gass worked on The Tunnel for 20 or 30 years and
that was a piece of shit, too.
