Sopranos - Was: First Couple-Three...

Watched the show since day one... hated seasons 3,4 and 5... loved season 6
(both parts)... LOVED the ending.
But everyone has to remember the show started, and all subsequent un-singled
lines of plot followed, the mafia don going to a shrink because he was upset
that a family of ducks left his pool.
It was never about whacking people. The ending couldn't have been better.
Chase found the ONLY possible ending that not a single viewer out of the 30
odd million (14 something sets tuned in... I know I watched with 4 people
so...) could have guessed.
I actually thought about the Crying of Lot 49 when it was over.
Not so much Pynchonian for me, but VERY VERY post-modern.

You are, I believe, the first to bring up the Sopranos finale on the
P-list. I liked the ending, unlike a lot of fans of the show. I only
watched occasionally. I loved the way that psychotherapy, which
really initiated the roller coaster of this series, becomes very
suspect as to its worth by the end, especially as it is pursued by the
oh-so-troubled son. And unlike so many reviewers who wrote that the
ending had nothing happen, I think it is pretty clear that the three
family members in the restaurant got whacked.
