I liked the ending of COL49, but I'd like any ending where the last 6 words
of the book = the title. I'm a sucker for cleverness for the sake of
cleverness.
But yeah - once the credits rolled and I realized that it was not a cable
outage. Right away I thought. "and she awaited the crying of Lot 49" (or
something similar).
Perfecto.

I just posted the same thing before reading your post. But I thought the
ending was a manipulation of the viewer and was built of violating a long
history
of film and tory-telling conventions.
I'm also not so enamoured of the ending of COL49 ...
