And it is a bit higher in elevation, correct, Monte? Site says incline Left and Incline Right.
In a history of the famous battle, it seems the Brit general feinted straight at we Rebels while he sent a major force around back via the fork....he lost.
and, maybe, later planned battles as a consequence did not take place, says one site.
so, as is constant with TRP, the "fork" may also be an historical one, in Time. so to speak.

The tributaries (themselves, colloquially, forks) of Brandywine Creek drain
the whole area around the church, so it's a district. If you go here (about
8 mi SE of the church), you'll see the primary fork about a mile upstream
from the Brandywine Picnic Park.
