They also do one of those reenactments each year in the summer. something
that brings in a lot of out-of-towners, but as a local I'm a bit jaded with
those. I forget when they occur but anyone interested can "Google" Battle of
the Brandywine reenactments and find out with a quickness I'm sure.
There's also a very nice art festival that takes place that weekend.
The Wyeth family is also from (and mostly still resides, I believe) in the
area. The farmhouse where N.C. (I think it was N.C.) did the famous "Helga"
paintings is on my road. J

And it is a bit higher in elevation, correct, Monte? Site says incline Left
and Incline Right.
In a history of the famous battle, it seems the Brit general feinted
straight at we Rebels while he sent a major force around back via the
fork....he lost.
and, maybe, later planned battles as a consequence did not take place, says
one site.
so, as is constant with TRP, the "fork" may also be an historical one, in
Time. so to speak.

The tributaries (themselves, colloquially, forks) of Brandywine Creek drain
the whole area around the church, so it's a district. If you go here (about
8 mi SE of the church), you'll see the primary fork about a mile upstream
from the Brandywine Picnic Park.

It's about 45 miles WSW of where I live.
