Monte, at times you sounded as if you didn't believe you were doing that great of a job.  Along with Tim, I want to thank you and assure you that you brought out a lot of fine points that I would have missed, not that putting me in particular on the scent's the acme of achievement (though I do appreciate it), but also I think you have a way of catching what Pynchon may be getting at in a lot of places.  Enjoyable reading, hope you enjoyed posting too.
