Watch out for my review of Esposito's review of Wood's review of AtD :)

James Wood's review is in 'The New Republic' and it is, alas, subscription 
only.


'When I found out that James Wood had reviewed Against the Day,** my first 
reaction was, of course, to wonder just how much this one-man "hysterical 
realism" wrecking crew would hate it. True to form, in his 6,000 word review 
he did eventually get around to arguing that Against the Day is not a good 
book, but, and I think this is important, unlike most critics who panned 
Pynchon's novel, he at least demonstrated an awareness of (some of) the 
book's virtues and (some of) Pynchon's intentions.' ...
