A Loop in Time

Upon reading A Loop in Time, it becomes clear that author Rowena Wright is a
master of many subjects, ranging from art history to advanced mathematics to
Egyptian mythology.

Unfortunately, the one subject seemingly unmastered is storytelling. The
characters, young and old alike, all seem to be prodigious philosophers,
rambling mathematicians, and quarrelous chess players, who serve the basic
purpose of being the author's pedantic vehicles for educating the reader
rather than advancing any form of a plot. The scenes are sterile, and the
dialogue is comparable to a Pynchon novel.
