The Corrections?

I read The Corrections partly because he didn't play the Oprah game.
First Franzen story. Not that i have strong feelings about Oprah. I
don't watch TV, so I don't care. The book seemed real good at the
time, very well written in terms of emotional interest, family
interactions. It was intense for a normal kinda story, but it faded
completely from my mind after a while. It would take a really
enthusiastic review to get me to read him again. On the other hand i
enthusiastically read Terry Pratchett books when I need a laugh, and
I find them consistently memorable. Go figure.

Anyway , I'd be interested in what others thought of The Corrections.
