My 2 cents re. AtD: I know that some will be indignant at my saying
it, but I am finding it a bit disappointing so far. I plan to finish
it, but I'm finding very little of it thrilling. Every now and then
we enter another other-worldly laboratory, factory, museum described
in exquisite and bizarre detail, but even that is beginning to feel
like a Pynchon formula. I hear from those that have finished the book
that some sort of resolution makes things all fit in the end, and I
hope that's so. But so far AtD just feels a little tired (for a
Pynchon novel) to me. I think I liked MD better, and I know GR is far
better.
