ATDTDA fizzling out?

It's not so much a matter of wishing to be stroked as of engendering further 
discussion. Of course it's nice when someone kindly takes the trouble to 
write "Fine post!" or something like that, but it's even nicer when one's 
post sparks further interpretations, elaborations, disagreements, etc., 
contributing both to one's own and to the list's collective understanding of 
this difficult work. That's certainly my primary motivation for 
participating in this group read, and the p-list in general. If I want 
praise, I always have an adoring three-year-old daughter to turn to (and 
when she starts slagging me in a couple of years, I'll be sure to come 
crawling to the list, asking for a bit of stroking).
