that bad?  actually, I've had voice lessons...
pretty good ones from 2 teachers,
but you know that old saw about teaching a pig to sing

see, my mom taught us kids the junior birdmen song with
a bit of bowdlerization and hand jive mudra (you make an O with your
thumb and forefinger, place them around your eyes, like goggles,
raise both elbows and put your little fingers in your ears)

so it's not a sarcastic song in this rendering
actually, but a celebration of youth and adventure...
quite in keeping with the author's choice to give the
Chums the envoi...

never mind...
the kazoo's a good idea...
