Flagg was also the name of the villain in Stephen King's "The Stand"

question: is it worth considering a possible mapping of AtD to the
Divine Comedy, are the different locales similar to "bolgias" in DC?
Obviously P's not chosen a linear progression bottom to top, but might
there be a traceable path (knight's move or something) between
spiritual states linked to the characters' moves between
locations?  In fact, could locations be considered characterologically?
Aren't there almost as many associations with each level of
Purgatory per se, as with the people in it?

that wasn't put very well...
on a less fuzzy level,
I'd like to make an animation using a globe, showing the principal
locales and how the characters move between them.
I think location is very important in the book.
