From the cold daylight of Lone Tree to the grimly daylit parlor of
Mayva's house, Reefer and Francis discuss the proper destination for
"Uncle Fletcher's old twelve-cylinder Confederate Colt, whose
brasswork [Webb] took care to keep shined" and whose barrel length
set a standard against which Webb's manhood was unfavorably compared.
(88:18-20) It will be interesting to see how Zak Smith sketches this
twelve-shot colt - sounds more like a frat house drinking game to me.
It is true that the Confederacy used more brass in their pistols due
to insufficient steel supplies at that time.
