           Admittedly I did not understand the “as above, so below”
           when it is mentioned (I think twice in AtD??) and I have
           to dive into M & D (but am really looking forward to it).


The phrase "as above, so below" is from an alchemical text called the  
"Emerald Tablet of Hermes:"

There is an important parallel between the Chums and the Hindu Vimana  
which is related to the concept of "As above, so below," which we
