*Very* nice work, Jim. I especially liked your highlighting of his new kinds
of restraint and economy ("lightning that strikes right out of the bottle").
 
It made me think of Pascal's (and Chesterfield's and Cicero's) "I have only
made this letter rather long because I have not had time to make it
shorter." 
 
All the reviewers who made so much of the book's length missed entirely---
whooosh! -- how very, very compact it is measured against its aims and
accomplishments.
