Who the hell is tokontologist?

I am reading 'The Man without Qualities' at the moment, which is a very 
useful companion to AtD btw. And I've just come across this strange 
speciality: '... a grammarian of Bo might come up against a partigen 
researcher,  a tokontologist against a quantum physicist, ...' . I couldn't 
find the word anywhere except in the novel. Is it just Musil's satyrical 
invention?
