Serendipitous find

I was rummaging through some stuff on my former SO's side of the bed
yesterday, and what did I find?

A 1974 paperback edition of Gravity's Rainbow that I bought for about fifty
cents at a library book sale when I was a junior in high school. Never read
it, then, past the first page, but I had bought it because, well, I buy lots
of strange stuff at used book sales, and I'd heard that a bunch of Unix
geeks back in the seventies and eighties went crazy over that book.

I guess the SO had tried to read it at one point, as well, and had gotten
distracted.

Included is a photo of my two editions of GR on the bed.

Unfortunately this copy seems to be a bit out of shape and I don't trust it
to hold together long enough for me to read it. But I still like having it
around.
