        From Jasper's post:

"Civilians, now, my gosh. That gong's about
to start kickin you back, li'l amigo."

Aside from a possible Gilligan's Isla reference,
I'm unclear on: "civilians" and "gong".
        Please explain.

        gong
        ???
        *wiki*
        (he doesn't know either)

You can find it in the lyrics of Cab Calloway's "Minnie the Moocher, as
immortalized by thisBetty Boop cartoon. On page 260, Sloat Fresno
mutters "Better'n opium smoke." Note all the Chinese ex-pats on the
streets of Telluride. Kicking the Gong around: smoking opium. Also,
Deuce has an on again/off again thing for a Chinese lady.

The second link is prefaced by some footage of Cab Calloway,
but the first has better sound
