This once again goes to show how closely related Lake and Frenesi are. In 
Vineland (during that crazy storm), Brock Vond lovingly informs Frenesi of 
her true role in the triangle between Brock, Weed, and her:

"You're the medium Weed and I use to communicate, that's all, this set of 
holes, pleasantly framed, this little femme scampering back and forth with 
scented messages tucked in her little secret places." (VL, 214)

- and later DL tells Prairie: "Maybe your mom's only in there to make it 
look normal and human so the boys can go on discreetly porkin' each other." 
(VL, 266)

Lake and Frenesi could almost be chronologically removed twins, couldn't 
they? (Of course, they ARE related by blood: Lake's brother's son, 
Jess/Jesse Traverse, will go on to marry the daughter of his school teacher 
Mr. Becker (Eula), and they'll have the lovely daughter Sasha, who'll hook 
up with Hub Gates (who reminds me very much of Merle Rideout, BTW), and give 
birth to Frenesi Gates).
