A Reader's Hunch about critics

I read as many pages of fiction, but fewer books, as I would if I didn't
read Pynchon's books.  You could say the same of readers of any author of
long books, but particularly of "difficult" ones.

When I'm finished reading ATD, I'm gonna read a few short books just to get
my bpy (books per year) back up where an intellectual should have it.  I'm
glad that my 80 hour work weeks are over, or it'd be more like years per
book :-).
