A Reviewer's Hunch about Pynchon's Fans

I thought it was a fun read. He writes vividly about the early '60s folk 
movement -- he was present at the Newport folk festival where Dylan went 
electric. Among other things, he debunks the rumor that Pete Seeger tried to 
cut Dylan's power cables. Boyd moved to London shortly after that, and he 
helped nourish and the British rock scene, helping groups like Pink Floyd 
and Fairport Convention. He survived that time without becoming either jaded 
or cynical.
