I read a few months back that marmots are the second-greatest killer of
humans (after the mosquito) - sounds extreme, but it's due to the fact
that all the great plagues of Europe were initially spread by marmots
from Mongolia, which is a nice and neat tie-in to later elements of AtD.
Don't know how that might tie in, but the plague link makes the falling
marmot seem awfully biblical.

A marmot is a groundhog in N. America, right? Maybe it's that
weather-forecasting fella making himself known.

Did my subject line get censored? I noticed it is blank on the two
replies? Funny that a direct translation of the text would get snipped
somehow.

Anyway, another loose thought about the crash on the roof is that it was
an amulet from a demi-god like the one that created Venice.

Or some debris from the Inconvenience.

I just don't see a marmot being that big of a banger.

And why is Sloat phobic about bathing? Superstitious horror?
