they were both frustrated and ill-used...

Tesla signed over his royalties to Westinghouse at one time, when
the latter was having cash flow problems...giving up a cut of
every kilowatt produced; as big a gesture as Lake's marrying Deuce,
and repaid as scantily in the aftermath

still, not something that would've occurred to me...
