On Norman Mailer

I, for one, would like to know TRPs thoughts on Norman
at his passing. TRP seems to allude to a notion or metaphor
of Mailer's once or twice (or more often?), and they were both engineer students with
some deep feelings about technology and its discontents.
But TRPs thoughts/opinions will stay with his closest, I'm sure.
Does anyone know the possible truth of the story of Norman trying
to visit, unbidden, a young TRP who supposedly fled out a window?
It seems in all of his published comments on American writers of
his lifetime, Norman had nothing to say about any of TRPs work,
although in Esquire very early this year when attention was
building for Norman for Castle in the Forest he said that he was looking forward
to reading Against the Day....
