. . . .well, err, I guess I was cooking up a scenario where our beloved author
was slipping script concepts in at the planning stages, and seeing that both
Groening and TRP were in the general Bay Area/Northern California real estate
thing at the time and seeing as it's the only gas transmission our boy ever
appeared in, I wonder if the notion of Springfield in the Simpsons might have
been a knowing or collaborative sort of thing. Cause the Whole Pynchon
line in the U.S. Started up with that Fur-Henchman and Antinominian
William Pynchon. In Springfield

Or maybe what it is I really need is either sleep or for this early, ugly Arvo
Part on the box to move on towards the Gregorian Minimalism we have all
grown to know and love and in the case of the more monastic among us,
hum along with. But I'll settle for coffee right now.

P.S., yes there's prima facia bullshit in the post in question---and by the
way kids, check out Chris Durant's high octave rant in the HuffPo today,
it's demented, it's deranged, it's de-lovely.

Has to be read by anyone with even the slightest interest in 'The Crying of Lot
49'. I'll bet the "Waste Doctrine" came back around and bit Pynchon & Company
right in the ass during the dustbowl years. And corporations have a big hand in
making history books, just like George M. Pynchon and his chums had plenty
of clout with "The Newspaper Of Record". That was the real point of the 'Plot
Which Has No Name', that something so central to our National self definition
could be so hard to find, so easily hidden. You might trip over it. . . .
