The Waste Law

I love Robin's excavations. To me, they add all kinds of connections from
Pynchon's family history that will make the multi-volume fully "annotated"
edition of Pynchon's Collected Works something I hope my grandchildren'
will read....

But, to me, TRPs family history might be compared to Melville's going to sea.
A start, a base, to books that are so much more, that TRP fills out with so much--
as does Melville--that we lose sight of the sea, to say the least.

A-and I think TRP might not respect this aspect of his family history--unlike say
the Heretics--and would never care if the history is known to all.
