Has anyone seen the film I'm Not There? I saw it yesterday and thought it was fantastic. The biographic method it uses is to present a portrait of Dylan based not on the events of his life, but on the changing mentality of his music. I think this would be a great approach to use in a bio-pic of TRP. It's less important what happened to him in high school or his specific family history. In the TRP version of I'm Not There, we might have segments about an unscrupulous capitalist magnate, a sailor on shore leave in Malta, a stoned and tripping artist trying to write the great American novel, a brief reference to a motorcycle accident, an affluent NYC dad rushing to pick his son up from school on 9-11, and so on ...
