Pynchon v. Stearns --- T S Eliot's "S" stands for Stearns. Any relation?
What a great question!...I do not know (yet) but......more olde New England!
Thomas Stearns Eliot (1888-1965) was born in St. Louis, Missouri, of an old New England family.
