I dont know how new I can be considered, but I joined the list maybe a month
or two ago and posted a few things (pataphysics and something else, maybe?).
I've only read Lot 49 and Slow Learner and am working through Gravities
Rainbow, so I cant contribute much...
That being said though, I live in Ithaca/go to Ithaca college, across from
Cornell University, where Pynchon got his schooling, which is neat because I
can visit places hes been to and see what hes seen.
Anyway, I was goign to post this before, but I found two book that have
Pynchon introduction, not sure if you guys know them -- Tom Robbins' "Even
Cowgirls Get The Blues" (has a letter by Pynchon praising the book) and
Richard Farina's "Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up To Me", which has an
entire introduction about Pynconh and Farina's friendship/acquaintance and a
bit about Pynchon's life. The intro is a pretty decent read, but the book is
awesome and I highly recommend it. It has a Pynchonesque vibe, if Pynchon
was a stream of consciousness poet instead of a physician. Wonderfully
written, good story.
Yeah. Hello.

Subject: new person, welcome!
Hi,
though vainly searching my inbox a-and even the archives
(by the way, the WASTE.org archives have, like, years
of pynchon-list postings, some quite good)...
I know I saw a new person's name posting but can't find it...
anyway, welcome to the list, new person!
