Thomas Pynchon's direct line from William has been satisfactorily  
worked out without any gaps.  See

But I'm not aware of any research having been done on how George M.  
fits in. Perhaps there is no family member left around to inquire.  
Don't know if if George Jr. had any issue or whether there were  
siblings who might have had children.  Though George Sr. might have  
had blue blood,  it probably wasn't very famous blue blood outside of  
the pages of the Times financial page.
