I had a first edition Hardback, a collectible copy. Worth about a grand
today. Sold it to a Lawyer in Berkeley around the time I picked up a
turbo "Colt" from a retired Buddist lady who didn't want to deal with
the registration hassle. Weird times.

$3.50? No way. Hyperarts' labeling is confused -- that upper-right image
(the one I have) shows the SEVENTY-FIVE CENT Bantam mass-market (FIRST US
paperback), published May 1967 -- not some hifalutin "Windstone edition" 15
inflationary years later, when hoi polloi and rif-raff and the rest of you
newbies were all over Pynchon......
(Normally I think very little about editions, first or otherwise, but here I
get to play curmudgeonly geezer, cheapskate, and bibliophile at the same
time.)
