Atdtda[20]: Ostend, located in the west.

Strange thing that Ostend, being physically the West, is called the End 
of the East.  This has to do with the sea currents that come from the 
northwest and end at the shore -- reason why there is a harbour in 
Ostend:  was easy for a fisherman to start out in the South, turn 
around, and get back.

Was what my father told me, who grew up there (born, however, as he was, 
in the Ypres salient).

I will add some notes on Ostend, but I know I should talk about 
Brussels.  The link between these 2 is the Belgian Royal family.
