Certainly true in GR.  Slothrop more or less disintegrates, which solves his problem.  Geli makes Enzian invisible to Tchitcherine Or at least prevents Tchitcherine from recognizing him) thus saving Enzian's life.

Very different from the negative connotation of "being disappeared" (Such as in Catch-22).
