If anything—Ånything—Pynchon has written screams our for on overview all of all his work, it's Against the Day. V., Col49, GR, VL, M & D and the work in question itself reflecting all of them back on each other, It's all in there. Still, War & Peace has been dumped in our laps, after all. And I'd guess that means that there's an element of work in all this play.
