My recent hobby is freaking out mathematically-minded folks by bringing up 
the subject of quaternions. Most of them don't have a clue what they are 
(although, to be fair, none of them has been a maths prof, mostly economists 
and programers). I usually ask smth like, do you know higher maths well? 
Yes, sure! So, could you explain me what quaternians are used for? Blank
