ATDTDA (17): Intro

Okay pardners, looks like it's my turn to do the esteemed hosting duties.  My focus will be on chapters three and four (pp. 460 - 88) of Section Three: Bilocations.

I wasn't sure if I should stick with the original schedule and begin my fortnight of hosting today, or wait a week for Mark K. to catch-up on the previous section.  He assured me offlist, however, that some overlap of the discussion wouldn't be a bad thing ... we've certainly had more disruptive things on the List over the years than overlapping sections, I admit ... so I'll just begin my section of hosting in the hopes that it helps us move along in the reading.

As much as possible, I will attempt to limit my annotations and questions to about three pages per day.  Hopefully, this will enable us to dig in with analysis at a comfortable pace.  Keep in mind that a coupla months ago some folks here were questioning whether the current pace ought to be increased, and I suggested that if that is the case, we might want to do so after our holiday hiatus, in January, 2008.  Let's give this some thought; me, I'm fine with the current pacing, but others may disagree.

Finally, I will try (as much as possible) to add to the Pynchon Wiki for this particular section.
