speech can be captured on the page. The three girls (Yashmeen's
"handmaidens", 490) are introduced by name after their greeting of Yashmeen:
there is no way to specify who says what, and it matters little (just as it
often matters little if we cannot separate the Ns). Standardisation remains
a key concept, and here the focus is on blondeness, "a fully equipped
ideologie", all of which emphasises Yashmeen's Otherness: the girls compete
(as the Ns did earlier) to offer a suitable representation/translation of
whatever it is about her.
