I think it's pretty funny that fans of THOMAS PYNCHON are complaining about
texts being difficult to read

For me, these names are a lot less yawn-inducing than this debate about
whether PoMo (which diminutive detractors have turned into a bad word in
itself) Theory is "unintelligible...and useless" or world-changingly
meaningful. Come on, folks. Overly black and white much? The truth of
course lies somewhere between these extremes.
All I know is that I've had several wow-inducing moments courtesy of Derrida
(about, for one, Hamlet's ghost and the cyclical nature of revenge) and
Foucault (about, for one, power and resistance in Bram Stoker's Dracula, and
my lived reality). And yeah, they're fucking hard to read.
