When Free Radicals Become Free Agents

Ooo, ya got me on the VU. Ya left out Zappa; though his music could get
prissy and he held forth more than any musician I can think of, his music
admits it’s precedents, and is honest enough to not try to subvert it’s
entertainment nature; oh, yeh, and the guy had chops!

Little Axe’s “The House that Wolf Built” isn’t really relevant, but even
though Little Axe seems to never leave the EU, it’s one my all-time fave but
under-reviewed albums, so I’m pluggin’ it.

One thing all these groups have in common is they touch(ed) all chakras.
Wild, yet academic, and without belly and balls is not my idea of a good
time, but your mileage may vary.

That after all these years they're gonna distribute through Starbuck's
star-based system, but still seek to, and succeed in, alienating as many
listeners as they can without losing their devoted fan-base, well, IMO, that
about says it all.

Is he going to say Whitehouse?  Throbbing Gristle?  Uh, Velvet Underground?
Wolf Eyes?  The Dead C.?

Place yr bets now

Hen, I'm sorta w/ you.  I saw them when Jim O'Rourke was in the band, and
liked the semi-noisy breakdowns, but otherwise it just feels like early-90s
alt-rock Yo La Tengo stuff that I think I was just born too late to get way
way into.
