he also assumes that Kit will have to "handle [that old Dahlia]", a
'problem' of sorts to replace one that has been solved, ie the redefinition
of what might be considered problematic. The final line ("I'll tell you a
story someday. Maybe") might well refer to his parting from Stray: not least
if "the perfect accomplice" (740) does bring to mind Stray.
